The body produces a variety of cannabinoid compounds, including CBD.
The goal of the endocannabinoid system is homeostasis, to maintain a stable internal environment. This system is made up of CB1 and CB2 receptors which are embedded in the membrane of every type of cell. The receptors are in your brain, nervous system, organs, glands, connective tissue and immune cells. CB1 receptors are concentrated in the brain and central nervous system. However, they are also present in the nerves and some organs. CB2 receptors are most commonly in peripheral organs, especially calls associated with the immune system.
The endocannabinoid system is what helps you control you sleep, wake cycle, memory, mood, attention and other important nuero - biological processes which includes pain. This means your body is biologically groomed to accept CBD.
Here's an example. When you use a topical pain rub on your skin it is quickly absorbed through the epidermis and pores where the receptors, many of which are right below the skin's surface, are waiting to absorb the cannabinoil and use it to fight pain.
Your endocannabinoid system absorbs the CBD into your CB1 and CB2 receptors and distributes it throughout your body where it is needed and begins to work naturally.
